We spent a week exloring The story of the Gingerbread man through our literacy, maths and understanding of the world (science). Following a scientific experiment to discover why the gingerbread man didn’t want to get wet, the children chose to make a boat to keep him dry.


We talked about ways we could do this. Most children thought of duplo bricks. Some thought of metal so we improvised with tin foil. If they managed to keep their gingerbread man dry from one side of the ‘river’ to the other they showed their success with a thumbs up!
