Meals at Birchington CE Primary School

Although some children prefer to bring a packed lunch to school, we can also provide a well balanced diet for your child

Breakfast

A breakfast club available to children from 8am provides a healthy start to the day including

  • Cereals

  • Fruit Juices

  • Milk

  • Water

  • Toast

  • Jam

The breakfast club is supervised by the learning and behavioural mentors who also provide a variety of entertainment for the children, Should you wish your child to attend the breakfast club, the current cost is £1.50 per day

For more details please contact the school and ask to speak to Mrs Carpenter, Mrs Hart or Mrs Kup

Lunchtime

Birchington CE Primary School has its own kitchens where fresh food is prepared on a daily basis by the hard working and dedicated ladies from Principals Catering; they provide a well balanced and mixed menu with plenty of variety to keep the children interested.

Unlike many schools who have school dinners prepared elsewhere and then reheated on delivery to the school.

While our concern is to ensure that children receive a well balanced diet we also appreciate that children have their desires so chips are still available from time to time.

The school operates a 3 week rotating menu system to keep things interesting for the children and provide plenty of variety, please see below for the full menu.

If you would like your child to have a school dinner each lunchtime the current cost per day is £1.70 (May 2008)

Money should be paid for the full week on Mondays mornings.

If you think you may be entitled to free meals, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
