This term we have been spending some time in the school Library, where we have been encouraging the children to read for pleasure!
In Maths, we have been working really hard to partition numbers up to 50 into tens and ones and then represent them using different manipulative.
In Understanding the World, we have been learning about toys from the past and comparing them to the toys that we play with today. We then designed and created our own sock puppets and experimented with different joining techniques! It was fun!
We have also been learning lots in Science about humans and other animals and enjoyed investigating how bubbles are made on our Science day.
This term our English has been based around the book “The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig.” We have been looking at instructions and had to listen well and follow a set of instructions in order to make a pig mask. We have also been looking at upper- and lower-case letters and talking about their differences and similarities.
In Maths, we have been learning about the properties of 2D and 3D shapes and finding out how numbers can be represented in different ways.
We have also been finding out about the properties of different materials in Science and of course, thinking about why Christmas time is an important time of celebration for Christians in R.E.
What a busy term it has been!
1B have been very busy learning all about Autumn. We enjoyed a walk to the local park to collect signs of Autumn that could be used to create a picture.
In Wider Curriculum we have been learning all about our capital city, London. We went on an imaginary bus tour to see the sights and then used junk to create our own models.
