2DO spent some time learning about Christine Rossetti. They looked at her poem 'What is Pink?' and created their own colour poems. They then used paint to create an image of a landscape using different tones of the same colour. They really enjoyed expressing themselves in different ways.
This term we have been learning about Neil Armstrong and the first moon landing. We created our own versions of the rocket he travelled in using recycled materials and different joining techniques.
In Term 3 2DO have been learning all about Christopher Columbus. The children have learnt about his journey and compared it to journeys that they have made themselves. They then created maps by staining and tearing paper. Some of the children also chose to make one of Christopher Columbus' ships as a piece of home learning. A huge well done to all of the children, parents and carers involved.
2DO have been learning about the importance of the Nativity Story. We have thought about why it is significant to Christians and we have created our own Nativity scenes using shoe boxes.
In 2DO we have been learning about The Great Fire of London. In English we have been looking at the book 'Vlad and the Great Fire of London'. This term, Kate Cunningham, the author of the book came to speak to us all and tell us about what happened. We met Vlad and acted out what we would do to put out the fire!!
