CLASS 6M

Year 6 have had an exceptionally busy term. In Maths, we have been working on our understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages, and have been challenging ourselves with some tricky word problems.

In English, we have finished our fantastic novel Street Child and started looking at A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. We enjoyed writing a sequel to the story, imagining how Scrooge would be different the following Christmas.

In Science, we have been carrying out investigations to do with light, both to see how light travels and how mirrors can reflect light. We also had the pleasure of a visit from a Scientist at Pfizer, who enthralled us all with the thermal imaging camera he brought in!

Year 6 have had a busy and productive start to the new academic year. We have enjoyed diving into our Victorian topic and exploring the story of Street Child. We have written diary entries and information texts about Victorian workhouses and even had the privilege of looking in our old school records written in 1860.

In Science, we have been investigating electricity and have conducted simple and more complex circuits to observe the effects of various components.
